Kumu Hula Nalani Keale (クム・フラ・ナラニ・ケアレ)
クム・フラ・ナラニ・ケアレは、ハワイ・オアフ島出身のハワイ人教育者で、ダンサーで、アクターです。受賞歴のあるウクレレ奏者、モエ・ケアレとクム・フラ・パトリシア・アンドレード・ケアレの息子です。パロロ・バレーで育ち、3歳から母の指導の下でフラを始めました。クム・フラのチンキー・マホエ、リディア・カウアカヒ、ダリル・ルぺヌイ、チャールズ・カウプよりフラ指導を受けています。両親に倣い、父親と共にワイキキで多くの舞台に出演しました。モアナ・サーフライダー・ホテル、デュークス・ワイキキ、シェラトン・ワイキキで、主演ダンサーを務めました。
指導者としてのキャリアは、複数の小学校及び高校で教えることから始めました。1995年、ワイキキ・コミュニティ・センターでボランティア指導を始め、現在もビジターや現地の人々にフラを教えています。
1994年、母親のフラ教室、ハラウ・カウラカヒを再開しました。ハラウが、ハワイ人の故郷であるパパコレアの高台にあることを非常に誇りとしています。ハワイ文化に対する愛情・情熱から、海外にも文化を広めたいと思い、2000年、モアニ・ケ・アラ・オ・カウラカヒ・ジャパンを開設しました。
ハラウ・カウラカヒとハラウ・モアニ・ケ・アラ・オ・カウラカヒは、受賞歴のあるハラウです。これからも、クム・フラ・ナラニのハラウは、フラによって皆の絆を深め、フラを通じて愛とアロハを分かち合います。
Kumu Hula Nalani Keale is a Hawaiian educator, dancer, and actor from O’ahu Hawaii.
He is the son of Award winning ukulele master musician Moe Keale and Kumu Hula Patricia Andrade Keale. Reared in Palolo Valley from the age of 3 he began dancing
hula under the direction of his mother and continued his hula education through Kumu Hula chinky Mahoe, Lydia Kauakahi, Darrell Lupenui and Charles Ka’upu.Nalani followed in his parents footsteps performing along with his father in numerous venues in Waikiki. He was a featured dancer at the Moana Surfrider Hotel, Duke’s Waikiki, and the Sheraton Waikiki.
Kumu Hula Nalani Keale began his teaching career in multiple elementary schools and high schools. In 1995 he began volunteering at the Waikiki Community Center where he continues today teaching hula to visitors and kama’aina.
In 1994 Nalani reopened his mothers hula studio under the name Halau Kaulakahi.He takes much pride of his halau being located on the hights of the Hawaiian home lands of Papakolea. His love and dedication for the Hawaiian culture allowed him to share his culture abroad opening Moani Ke Ala O Kaulakahi Japan in 2000.
Halau Kaulakahi and Halau Moani Ke Ala O Kaulakahi are award winning Halau.They continue to share love and aloha through the hula that has brought all of them together.
